VIVALDI GOES FOR A RIDE
VIVALDI GOES FOR A RIDE
with the Victoria
Children’s Choir, Teresa
Hron, recorder, and Marc Destrubé,
violin and guest leader.
“We sing our hearts out!”—Victoria Children’s
Choir
If
you thought the recorder was a plastic do-dad you tried to play
in music class, guess again! Teresa Hron is a dazzling virtuoso
of the instrument (made of wood, of course), and she’ll play
(count ‘em) two concertos that Vivaldi wrote for recorder
(La Tempesta di Mare and Il Gardinello.) Then, fasten your seatbelts
as Terri takes us on a ride with her own creative spin on Vivaldi.
The concert ends in a blaze of glory as the 30-voice Victoria
Children’s’ Choir performs Vivaldi’s exuberant
Gloria, accompanied by trumpet, oboe and strings.
